Development Description

The building had been empty for well over 10 years and was an eyesore within the city centre. The proposals brought forward were for a highly sustainable office building as well as 80 apartments and some commercial space on the ground floor. It is a highly visible site located within very close proximity to the listed buildings. CSJ Planning Consultants approach the project with the clients blessing for a highly sustainable building. The end product was taken up by the Environment Agency as their Headquarters, Tridios Bank and has won numerous sustainability awards, both nationally and in the South West. As part of the overall design, the two main entrances utilised contemporary stained glass installations by the renowned artist Kate Maestri.

Planning Process

As with all CSJ Planning Consultants projects, early consultation with both stakeholders and the general public took place and pre-application enquiry documentation was submitted to the Local Authority. The design team led by CSJ Planning Consultants, successfully negotiated the applications through the planning process to a successful conclusion. CSJ Planning Consultants were also responsible for the discharge of all conditions connected to the consent throughout the project construction.
