Local Plan Representations and Land Promotion

Local Councils are regularly looking for new housing land to meet national policy requirements and to meet growing local need for new housing. If you believe you have a parcel of land which could be suitable for housing or commercial development, CSJ Planning can review its potential, and if suitable, ‘promote’ this land to the Council as an area suitable for development growth.

This relates to previously developed land (brownfield land), edge of settlement sites, or rural greenfield land.

We adopt a number of tools to achieve this, tailored to your particular site and needs. This includes consultation and public relations, land promotion design statements and draft masterplanning proposals, and attendance at Examinations in Public. We monitor the progression of emerging Local Plans so that we can ensure your interests are actively promoted throughout all of the consultation stages of the emerging plan and examination process.

In addition, CSJ Planning regularly submit policy or land allocation representations on behalf of clients. Additionally, in our own capacity we respond to emerging Development Plan Documents, Supplementary Planning Documents, Local Development Plans and National Planning Policy and Guidance.
