Development Description

The proposals comprised of the construction of a new five bay operational fire station together with training facilities. The application included the construction of a new more efficient fire station within the grounds of the existing site, enabling the existing station and headquarters buildings to be sold for wider regeneration purposes. This proposal formed part of Avon Fire and Rescues’ ‘investing in the future’ programme which saw several new modern and efficient stations constructed across the region.

Planning Process

Securing planning consent required extensive negotiation with the council’s planning officers on grounds of design and highways. As part of the process a masterplanning exercise was required to demonstrate how the wider site will operate during constrution and evenetually come forward for redevelopement in the future.
