Development Description

This commission involved preparing and coordinating outline planning applications for the replacement of 7 secondary schools throughout the Local Authority area, including stakeholder consultation and masterplans. Henbury School also included the development of a district leisure centre with 25m pool and leisure gym.

Planning Process

Under the Labour Government of the time, major investment in the secondary schools capital programme, Bristol City Council had the opportunity to redevelop and/or provide as new a number of secondary schools throughout the city. This led to a major investment within the city over a number of years, with CSJ Planning Consultants responsible for gaining the necessary planning consent for this to take place. CSJ Planning Consultants also provided planning services for a number of private schools within the city including Badminton School, Bristol Grammar School and Clifton College.
