Development Description

This culminated in CSJ Planning Consultants acting as agents and planning consultants for the coordination and management of the first phase full application for the redevelopment of the site which comprised 8,000m2 of new academic space in 3 buildings. The second phase comprised a full application for 500 student bad spaces.  The site is in an extremely sensitive location, clustered around a manor house surrounded by capability brown Grade II* historic landscape, greenbelt, Listed Buildings and scheduled ancient monuments. The masterplan was successfully enhancing the landscape through selective redevelopment whilst providing modern bespoke facilities for the University.

Planning Process

Early engagement with the Local Planning Authority through pre-application enquiry submissions and invitations to masterplan workshops was successful in identifying issues and challenges at an early stage. Exhibitions were provided for both students, staff and the general public as the masterplan progressed and the design work on the two phases of development evolved. CSJ Planning Consultants successfully delivered two full planning applications for the developments proposed with a possible third phase to be commissioned in the future.
