Development Description

The development proposal was for a new studio school model, aimed at young people aged 14-19 of all abilities where education is taken out of the classroom and learning achieved through real life projects, principally work placements and employer based study models in order to develop pupils employability skills.

Planning Process

CSJ oversaw the initial application submission and successfully negotiated the justification against objections, amended the scheme in relation to car parking location and provided a robust justification for the building within the grounds against a Sport England objection. The key point was that no full size pitches or provision for sport was lost as a result of the scheme. A delegated decision was eventually issued, following a referral to the Secretary of State in relation to playing fields, and who were content with the application.
