Development Description

The proposal was for a high quality scheme which not only provided a mix of tenures but also added important benefits to the local community to include land for public allotments and associated car park, overflow car park for the nearby medical centre, on site open space, formal play space and pedestrian/cycle connections.  The design was high quality and bespoke for the site taking into account the nearby conservation area and listed buildings, utilising natural slate tiles, natural stonework and bespoke timber windows.

Planning Process

Building on the outline consent for the site, CSJ attended meetings with key stakeholders and planning officers to determine the exact scope of works proposed. A reserved matters application was subsequently submitted and approved in December 2015, which involved substantial negotiations with planning and conservation officers. CSJ also successfully managed the discharge of all planning conditions attached to both the outline and reserved matters consents.
