Planning Granted for Housing in Bridgwater

Planning Granted for Housing in Bridgwater

CSJ Planning acting for Land Promotions has secured planning permission for 17 new dwellings, comprising mainly semi detached 3 bed properties. The permission is a redevelopment of a vacant public house with large car park. The scheme will deliver new street frontages and introduce landscaping within the front gardens, which will also provide parking spaces. The scheme will bring about a major visual improvement to what was a very poor derelict site. The sustainable location will deliver much needed housing with the permission incorporating 15% affordable housing, although there is interest from Housing Associations to acquire the site for a full affordable scheme. Each property will have its own rear garden amenity space site and secure shed. Permission was granted on the signing of a section 106 agreement following consideration at the March 17th Planning Committee where Director Andrew Beard set out the wide ranging planning benefits the proposals delivered. The scheme was approved wholeheartedly with one abstention. Application reference 08/14/00184
