Permanent Community Facility Approved

CSJ Planning acting for the Cavendish Gospel Hall Trust have secured permanent permission for an existing Gospel hall on the outskirts of Ketton that originally only received the temporary consent. The application was secured via a deletion of condition on the basis that the previous employment land was not prime and there was an over-supply and lack of demand in the local area. This also combined with the real clear need for community facilities and the fact that if the Church did have to re-locate there would need to be another site found. The approval also centred on the fact that the congregation has grown over the last four years and, in fact, additional new halls are required in addition to simply relocating this proposed use. A separate planning application was approved for an expansion of car parking at the site which was proposed in order to ensure there was adequate on-site parking to ensure highway safety and to avoid any on street parking. CSJ acting as planning agents for the Gospel Trust prepared the applications in early December, submitted them both in early January 2017 and both received Delegated Approval on March 3rd. The Cavendish Trust can now rest easy with their permanent D1 community facility serving the Ketton area and continue to look for additional sites in Rutland.
