CSJ Planning acting for a local business has secured a change of use permission within Chandler’s Ford trading estate to allow a mixed use office (B1a)/ builders merchant (B8) with trade counter. These sort of applications always tend to involve debates over the nature of the use between trade and retail, but the key test is the primary nature of the operation of the business. The permission will bring back into use a vacant unit and deliver new jobs for an expanding company. The permission has maximised the internal trade counter element and also established a new car parking, servicing and storage layout within the frontage yard. The application was delivered within 8 weeks following submission of a full suite of CSJ justification reports and approved under delegated powers.
