Reserved Matters Approval at Paintworks, Phase III

CSJ Planning Consultants have recently secured the final tranche of approvals necessary to commence work on Phase III of the Paintworks, Bristol. This most recent permission provides for the construction of 210 residential units, 11 live/work apartments, 6,300m² of bespoke employment space, 417m² active ground floor retail uses and undercroft parking. It builds upon the success of the earlier Phases I and II, but is far more substantial in scale. Working with Stride Treglown Architects a high quality bespoke design ranging from 2 to 7 storeys has been produced with a unique public realm and outlook over the River Avon. The scheme, when implemented, will help kick-start the Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone and provide for up to 400 new jobs in small competitively priced business space units of a non-institutional nature. The residential component will comprise a mixture of flats and houses ranging from one to four bedrooms. Working in partnership with Crest Nicholson Plc and landowners, Verve Properties Ltd, CSJ Planning Consultants are now progressing the Section 106 Agreement which will deliver the Travel Plan, affordable housing, economic enhancements and a range of other benefits. Work will hopefully commence in 2015 and will comprise a continuous single building sequence which will be phased over several years. Michael Orr, Director at CSJ Planning Consultants is delighted with the outcome and looks forward to seeing the economic regeneration making a notable and positive impact in this part of south-east Bristol.
